What’s Happening This Weekend?

by Harpersfield on Apr.28, 2010, under Music & Events, News

September 1, 2010 12:00 pmtoSeptember 6, 2010 8:00 pm

A glorious time was had by all this past week. The weather was truly a gift from the weather gods
as we enjoyed cooler tempatures and zero raindrops.
Friday evening actually turned into sweater weather.
Blue Lunch and Abbey Rodeo were brilliant and Sunday , Acoustic Revolution continued the impressive talent we had this past weekend.

The week ahead brings the talents of Blown Cover to Harpersfield and Saturday we welcome back
The Sliver String Band from their summer hiatus. Monday – Labor Day – The Shaun Easton Band
will help you enjoy the extra day off……..

SAVE THE DATE
Monday – September 6
Labor Day
(3-6pm) The Shaun Easton Band will be on hand to celebrate a day of no labor!

Thanks to all of the Harpersfield regulars that poured wines at the Wine & Walleye Festival!
They would be….
Frank & Donna, Roseanne & Tom, The Trudy, Kate & Maggie, Bill & Judy and last but not least -
Ron & Lori!
Festivals aren’t our thing so it’s great when volunteers step up to take over!

In the vineyard……..
Critter patrol! The grapes are starting to ripen and of course the very hungry critters seem to
be aware. It’s time to install the bird guards – you know the ones that sound like screaching
birds. It’s acually a bird distress call that works to scare the others away. They aren’t that
smart are they?
Let the waiting begin! Harvest is just around the corner. Of course the harvest will be light
at Harpersfield (late frost) Mystic Hill continues to amaze – the vineyard has surpassed our
expectations! Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris……
…….. coming to a wine bottle in 2012.

In the cellar….
We bottled Pinot Noir on Tuesday – beyond fabulous!
Of course, this won’t be released any time soon – let it age to a sensual perfection………

The #13 saga continues
A call goes out to #13 – you need to call us or stop in. We have retired #13 until
we locate them……. They know the story.
Thanks to all for their patience when the winery is busy- we have a new “its crazy busy plan” in place. Hopefully, the “it’s crazy busy plan” will work – everything works on paper!

TERRIER UPDATE!
The kids had a great weekend! Toby and Matilda spent the past week basking in the glory
of being cute.
Guests frequently ask about Matilda.. What is she? Matilda is a rough coat Jack Russell.
Yes, we will admit she is an odd looking little thing – but she is ours and we love her more
than you may know….
Of course, Toby remains the classic, lean Jack Russell – almost perfect.
